Traditional Mohair Bears 2 Day Workshop, Ilkley

Our gorgeous mohair bears and bunnies are designed exclusively for us by tutor Jacqueline Schultz of Jacqueline’s Bears. They’re based on traditional bear designs. So you make them using authentic, Steiff Schulte mohair over two hands-on workshop days.

All bears (and bunnies for returners) have a unique personality, moveable cotter pin joints and British made glass eyes.

Beginner’s use our Milo kit, creating a bear that is 23cm high when standing, 17cm when sitting in ratinee mohair. First time returners make Roxy, who is the same size but with a directional mohair that is more complicated to work with. And those returning for a third time get to choose from a selection of patterns and fabrics to make an entirely unique bear or one of our new bunnies for their collection. During these two full day classes, as well as learning teddy/bunny-making skills, Jacqueline will tell you the fascinating heritage of mohair bears.

This booking includes two sessions and a complete bear/bunny kit, including all the materials you need. A Milo kit normally retails at £59.99. Roxy, One of a Kind Bears & Bunnies are more expensive because they are unique, created specifically for the workshop by Jacqueline.

Beginners don’t need any previous bear-making experience but we do recommend you have some basic sewing skills.

Classes are individually priced & include the tools to use in class and all materials, unless otherwise indicated.

Each participant also receives a 10% discount voucher to put towards a future class.
