Glusburn Community & Arts Centre is a volunteer-led community arts venue at the heart of the local area. We host a programme of events, concerts and theatre taking place in our wonderful proscenium arch theatre space, plus have weekly classes and activities taking place most days. In addition, we have a selection of rooms all available for hire.

The Peace Museum explores the history and the often untold stories of peace, peacemakers, social reform and peace movements.

Since the museum was founded in 1994, we’ve been collecting items which tell the stories of peace in many different forms. Our 16000 object collection is made up of banners, personal objects, campaign materials and artworks donated by people and organisations all over the world.

It is unique in that it is the only accredited museum of its kind in the UK.

A beautiful, flexible, creative space just a minute’s walk from the centre of Saltaire. Our open-plan space is perfect for creative workshops and classes, talks, meetings, away-days and more. The airy, open space can be set up in a wide range of configurations to meet your needs.

This new purpose-built space offers underfloor heating, kitchen access, an enclosed outdoor area and is fully accessible for wheelchair users. All the local amenities of Saltaire, including some brilliant local coffee shops, bakeries, pubs and bars are just a stone’s throw away.

The People Powered Press is a five-minute walk from Saltaire rail station or a ten-minute walk from Shipley rail station, and there is plenty of free, on-street parking around the building.

Regular or one-off ad-hoc bookings welcome.

Cubby Broccoli Cinema

While the doors to Pictureville Cinema and the National Science and Media Museum remain temporarily closed, we are returning to our Cubby Broccoli screen, bringing a specially curated programme of cult and classic cinema back to one of our three beloved screens.

Free tea and coffee will be offered at every screening in Cubby Broccoli, where you can expect a warm welcome from the Pictureville team in a cosy, familiar space, as you support Bradford’s only independent cinema.

Cubby Broccoli is one of the three cinema screens at Pictureville Cinema. Named after Albert ‘Cubby’ Broccoli (the producer of many iconic James Bond films) the intimate auditorium has a capacity of one hundred seats, with three wheelchair spaces.

Please note that we are temporarily unable to take cash payments at Cubby Broccoli.

Access the Cubby Broccoli screen from the back of the museum whilst the main entrance remains closed.

Cubby Broccoli is located on level 1 of the National Science and Media Museum.

As the National Science and Media Museum undergoes redevelopment in a once-in-a-generation transformation, the museum foyer is currently inaccessible. As a result, Cubby Broccoli will only be accessible via its rear entrance next to Sharpe Street car park.

Skipton Little Theatre

The Skipton Players have called Skipton Little Theatre their home since 1960. This intimate venue, seating up to 70 guests, boasts a welcoming and personal environment. Each year, the Players stage a regular season of five plays, along with occasional additional plays in the summer and unique special performances at various times during the year.

The origins of the Skipton Players, who are the resident company, are unclear. The earliest programme from archive material in our possession, describes a performance of The Barretts of Wimpole Street in 1934, but the Players were probably in existence for a few years before then.

At that time, they were perfoming in the Town Hall, but they had the not-unreasonable ambition of one day performing in their own theatre. It took many years to achieve, but in 1960, the Players moved into their current home.

The Players have had a long and successful history of entertaining Skipton and surrounding communities.

We welcome many visiting theatre groups and are increasingly a very well-regarded live music venue.

‘A subterranean dream of a cultured beer bar’.

Located in the grade one listed Wool Exchange, we opened in November 2018 with a simple aim; to sell good beer.

Described as a hidden gem, a cult beer bar and indeed one of Bradford’s finest. At The Exchange you’ll find 7 rotating cask ales in great form, 9 interesting keg options plus a dizzying array of spirits, single malts and great wine.

Our beer fridges contain 80+ cans and bottles: a joyful selection ranging from Trappist classics, barrel aged stouts to wild fermented sours. Something for everyone and ever changing, too.

Our kitchen is open 4 days a week in partnership with Pieminister, serving award-winning pies with the expected accompaniments.
