Andrew Ziminski: Church Going

19 Oct 2024

15:45 - 16:45

All Saints’ Church

Churches are many things to us – they are places of worship, vibrant community hubs and oases of calm reflection. To know a church is to hold a key to the past that unlocks an understanding of our shared history. *Andrew Ziminski* has spent decades as a stonemason and church conservator, working on some of the greatest cathedrals and churches in Britain and acting as an informal guide to curious visitors. Join Ziminski for a charming tour through the histories, features and furnishings of the Medieval churches of the British Isles, from flying buttresses to rood screens, lichgates to chancels. Presented in partnership with All Saints’ Church.

Comedy favourite Howard Walker launches a new residency at Silsden Town Hall with three doses of his comedy club every year, starting in January 2025. Howard welcomes three more top comedians to the stage this January with performances from Alex Boardman, the Halls of Ridiculous and Nina Gilligan.

The Halls of Ridiculous is an award-winning improvised comedy sketch duo, currently supporting Russell Kane on tour. Last year, they won the title “Best Alternative Act” at the Yorkshire Comedy Awards.

Nina Gilligan comes fresh from her Fringe show ‘Goldfish’, a show about the things she can’t remember and that thing she wishes she could forget. Chortle winner, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year winner, Yorkshire Comedy Awards winner, Liverpool Hot Water Comedian of the Year winner… it’s no wonder Rolling Stone describes her as a “Phenomenal Performer”.
