The Unit Launched in 2022 and is a free open-access space supported by Bradford Council, Channel 4 and Screen Yorkshire.

We connect and support filmmakers and content creators across the Bradford region aligning with the goals of the screen sector within Bradford 2025.

We are lucky to have a fantastic support structure with contributors from Bradford Council, Channel 4, Screen Yorkshire, Film Hub North, Film maker25, Rollem Productions, Met Film School, The BFI, and The National Science and Media Museum to name but a few organisations.
Throughout the Journey, our ethos has always remained the same…

1. To create a community amongst filmmakers.
2. And to create a support structure to develop local talent who can contribute to a thriving Film and TV sector by 2025.

We provide support through free resources such as Hot desking, rehearsal space, film equipment, editing facilities, one-on-one mentoring, Met Film school masterclasses in screenwriting and, producing as well as animation and acting workshops. As well as fantastic guests such as Jimmy McGovern, Tony Gannie, Jade Jones and most recently Lisa Holdsworth.
