The Apothecary Gallery is an independent art gallery owned and run by printmaker Patrick Whitehead.
It’s a grade II listed building with an impressive Victorian frontage situated in the heart of the historic village of Thornton. There are two gallery rooms one of which runs monthly exhibitions by local artists.
The second gallery room has Patrick’s etching press and which showcases his case and invited artists to take part in joint exhibitions. There are group exhibitions at Christmas and from next year, the City of Culture, there will be yearly group exhibitions over the summer months. Previews are held monthly and either on a Friday evening or Saturday afternoon. Check events page and social media for details.
