French Ballroom, Midland Hotel. Join Anthony D Padgett, award winning sculptor and writer, to discuss the remarkable life and work of Humbert Wolfe.
Wolfe was a best selling poet of the 1920s. He published over 80 books and was to Bradford and poetry what J.B. Priestly was to Bradford and playwriting. As well as the discussion some of Wolfe's best poems will be read.
Wolfe is Padgett's great, great Uncle and Padgett's sculpture of Wolfe is in London, Bradford, Oxford and New York. His books "The 5 Heads of Humbert Wolfe" and "The War of the Poets" are available on Amazon.
Wolfe was born on the 5th January 1885 and died on his birthday the 5th of January 1940 - aged 55.
The talk will be at 1pm and will be followed at 2pm by a talk with John Pennington about how he saved and renovated the Midland Hotel.
This event is part of the Vintage Dance event happening over the weekend at the Midland Hotel.
