This October, the National Science and Media Museum is celebrating Black History Month with a special event. Join us at Pictureville cinema for an evening showing of Rye Lane and a quiz themed around representation on screen. Rye Lane is a British romantic comedy directed by Raine Allen-Miller in her feature directorial debut, from a screenplay by Nathan Bryon and Tom Melia, and starring David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah. It had premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023, and went on to receive critical acclaim and win six international awards, including the Black Reel Award for Outstanding Independent Film in 2024.
