Dave Pegg and Anthony John Clarke

7 Mar 2025

19:30 - 22:00

Black Dyke Mills Heritage Venue

Mirth, Music and Mischief!

When renowned singer-songwriter and modern-day feel-good comic Anthony John Clarke met virtuoso musician Dave Pegg many years ago at the Banbury Folk Festival, it was clear that a very special partnership was about to flourish.

Nearly twenty years on, these two pals still maintain their mischievous outings and effortlessly present one of the most entertaining and joyous events in the musical calendar.

“AJ and Peggy” fuse and amuse perfectly to the delight of audiences. To say their show is unique would be a gross understatement.

Anthony John (AJ) Clarke has for years been an established act on the UK folk scene. Whereas Dave Pegg has gained a legendary reputation playing with Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull and the Ian Campbell Folk Group, to name but a few.

Black Dyke Mills Heritage Venue

White Sail are Jane Stockdale, Chris Bartram and Sarah Dean and we are delighted to welcome them back to the mill.

With a recent 10 date sold out tour with legendary Hothouse Flowers frontman Liam O’Maonlai White Sail have the wind behind them!

With a glorious melding of harmony vocals and guitars, mandolin, Celtic harp, Appalachian dulcimer, schruti box, trumpet, flute, woodwind and percussion the trio perform their own unique material at gigs and festivals. Taking their inspiration from nature, history and heritage they write about love, life, the land and the sea. The stories are told with passion and sublime musicality. The songs are set against soundscapes that are joyous, vibrant and at times, gentle and mesmeric. They also weave their unique magic on the contemporary and traditional.

Aire Music presents David Ramirez (USA)

9 May 2025

20:00 - 22:30

The Hullabaloo Shipley

David Ramirez is singer-songwriter based in Austin, Texas, with six full length studio albums, three EPs, countless collaborations, and an illustrious supergroup project in Glorietta. He is known for his beautiful rich baritone voice and in 2020, he was awarded Songwriter of the Year by The Austin Chronicle.

He recently spent a season of rest away from his focus on writing songs. In the wake of the end of a long relationship, he wanted to prioritize processing his grief as a human, not as an artist bleeding on the page. “The last thing I wanted was to write a heartbreak record. So I stopped writing altogether, and I just waited until I saw my heart start coming back to life. I wanted the next thing to be hopeful and sweet and beautiful.”

David’s new record All the Not So Gentle Reminders, which comes out March 21, 2025 via Blue Corn Music is exactly what he was waiting for.

Aire Music presents Stephanie Lambring (USA)

13 Apr 2025

19:00 - 21:30

The Hullabaloo Shipley

Stephanie Lambring started as a songwriter on Music Row, but after 5 years composing for other artists, she walked away from the music business entirely until legendary songwriter Tom Douglas encouraged her to return to her craft. Her 2020 debut Autonomy was a critical smash, prompting Rolling Stone to hail her “John Prine-esque observation” and NPR to declare her “one of Nashville’s most fearless young singer-songwriters.”

Her follow-up, Hypocrite, is a remarkable work of self-reflection that finds comfort in facing the uncomfortable head-on. The arrangements are lush and hypnotic, and the writing is as raw and vulnerable as it gets, confronting everything from religion and trauma to body image and motherhood with unflinching honesty. The record lands somewhere between Phoebe Bridgers and Alanis Morrissette as it looks for the best by reckoning with the worst, an album full of love and grace and compassion that reminds us that imperfection and humanity go hand in hand.
