5 Oct 2024

10:00 - 15:45

Bradford Cathedral

Ever wondered what’s in a church, masjid, mandir or gurdwara? The Bradford Faith Trail offers a unique opportunity to discover a little bit about Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Christian (Roman Catholic and Church of England) faith buildings, about the faiths within and how they link into Bradford’s local community culture and faith heritage.

The Bradford Faith Trail takes in five fascinating places of worship. You can visit as many places of worship as you like – each place of worship will be open for set times and you will be shown round by experienced guides who are there to answer your questions, and to make your visit more informative and enjoyable. You will then be accompanied to the next venue.

The Faith Trail normally takes place on the first Saturday of the month from March-October and can be walked on foot in a day. The whole trail starts at 10am at St Peter’s Catholic Church and finishes at approx 3:45pm at Bradford Cathedral

Booking is essential. If you would like more information or to book a place please e-mail education@bradfordcathedral.org as the first contact, or call 01274 77 77 20. Booking closes on the Wednesday before each Faith Trail date.

YIFF Presents IN CAMERA – FREE Bradford Q&A Screening

17 Sep 2024

19:00 - 20:45

The Broadway Bradford

You’re invited to join the Yorkshire Indian Film Festival for an exclusive free screening of the critically acclaimed BBC Film and BFI backed psychological drama IN CAMERA, followed by an engaging Q&A session with the writer-director Naqqash Khalid on Tuesday 17th September at The Light Cinema, Bradford.

Slickly told by Khalid, with layered and nuanced performances from Nabhaan Rizwan (Netflix’s Kaos), Amir El-Masry (Limbo) and Rory Fleck Byrne (This is Going To Hurt), IN CAMERA is a profoundly unsettling exploration of the complexities of identity, self-perception, societal pressures and the blurred lines between reality and fiction. Through the eyes of an ambitious young South Asian actor navigating the ruthless word of the film industry, viewers experience a rollercoaster experience which is both deliciously satirical and equally thought-provoking.

You can secure your FREE tickets here:

https://www.tickettailor.com/events/londonindianfilmfestival/1379267

***

Synopsis:

Twenty-something Aden (Nabhaan Rizwan) dreams of becoming a successful actor, but the nightmarish grind of the audition circuit, with its callous rejections and upsetting micro-aggressions, is starting to take its toll. It doesn’t help that his junior doctor flatmate Bo (Rory Fleck Byrne) is also stressed to the point of burnout. But when self-assured fashion and lifestyle guru Conrad (Amir El-Masry) moves in, his optimism and confidence inspires Aden to take it upon himself to find a new part to play.

Full of pointed observations about an industry rife with prejudice and hypocrisy, In Camera deploys elements of surrealism and fantasy to trace how its young British-Asian protagonist’s sense of self is affected by the tokenism of a world he hopes to conquer. Candid and funny, with an unsettling eye for the warped and bizarre, it’s a playful, stylish satire, not just of showbiz, but also of how the myriad absurdities of modern British life have created a new generation of anxious young men. With a complex and supple central performance from rising star Rizwan and a soundtrack by Clark, this debut film from director Naqqash Khalid heralds an exciting new voice in British cinema.
