FABRICATION is a group exhibition featuring thirty Bradford-based artists, all working within the medium of textiles. Showcasing a diverse array of techniques—including appliqué, embroidery, printing, collage, and knitting—the exhibition presents these skills in various forms, such as tapestries, wall hangings, banners, furnishings, items of attire and three-dimensional pieces.
Beyond their visual appeal, textiles have the power to not only set a scene, but to also tell a story. These artists have woven together personal narratives of joy and achievement, as well as experiences of suffering, hardship, migration, and protest; demonstrating how textiles can be a deeply evocative medium for exploring emotion.
