Darley Street Market is set to open its doors in the heart of Bradford, join us on Saturday 12 July and Sunday 13 July for a weekend of celebration events!
Here are the schedule of events on the launch weekend!
SATURDAY 12 JULY 9am - 10pm
Cooking Demonstrations on the outdoor Market Square
10.30am - Soraya Overend, Foodsavers Cookery School inspiring the next generation of chefs to cook and teaching families to cook with a theme of Children in Mind.
11.30am - Mr & Mrs Yorkshire, Danny Malin with a Q&A from the audience, expect lots on grub, love, family and a lot of laughter.
12.30pm - Imogen Tilt, head chef at The Hawthorn Haworth and The Post Office, showing the audience how she makes her signature sea bass ceviche.
1.30pm - Owen Diaram, Masterchef Quarter Finalist 2023 and Winner of Great Taste Award, join the highly acclaimed chef as he demo's South African and Indian food culture together and puts the spotlight on his authentic cuisine.
2.30pm - Estela Arredondo, owner and chef at Miski Mexican, locally based in Saltaire, Estela will demo her popular Mexican offering.
3.30pm - Rashid Khalil, head chef at Bab Tooma Grande, will take you through a Middle Eastern culinary journey with his signature chicken liver dish, tabbouleh and demo how to make the popular Syrian dip, muhammara.
Outdoor Activities for Families
10am - 3pm Play Tent on the Market Square, creating food sensory immersive experience for 0-5s, inspired by market produce, herbs and spices, colours, textures and creative play.
10am - 3pm - Aardman drop-in clay station, make Shaun the Sheep, Gromit and Feathers at this interactive drop in station on the Market Square with our experienced facilitators Rosie McAndrew and Jess and get to take your characters home. All clay materials and guidance provided.
10.30am - 11.30am - Wallace & Gromit, The Wrong Trousers and The Close Shave screenings inside Darley Street Kitchen, Food & Beverage Floor, indoor TV screens. Watch the classics from Aardman on our large indoor screens!
10am - 3pm: Playful Anywhere and Orchestra of Objects will transform Darley Street into a playground with lots of fun food themed play and a Sound of Garden musical playground on the top of Darley Street. FREE face paint and henna tattoos.
10am - 3pm - Bradford Model Engineering Society will exhibit their amazing collection of interactive miniature trains and railway station in the Lifestyle Hall.
10am - 2pm - Plenty at the Square from Thornton's South Square will share sustainable food cooking tips, preservation and fermentation ideas on the Fresh Food floor, on the pop-up spaces.
11am - 3pm Join local pottery makers, Salt Pots in Darley Street Kitchen, where you can hand paint a tile celebrating Bradford's heritage and contribute to a collaborative heritage installation.
12pm - 9pm - Bradford Music Scene take over Darley Street Kitchen with live music from local bands, DJs and solo artists from the afternoon till late evening. Expect live music on the outdoor Balcony and Market Square.
Women's Wimbledon Finals will be played on the indoor and outdoor screens at 4pm.
Visitors can explore an all day - hand printed Darley Street Market postcard trail.
SUNDAY 13 JULY 11am - 8pm
11am - Join Imogen Tilt again for Sunday brunch, expect smoked salmon, cream cheese, sourdough, delicious eggs and avocados galore!
12pm - Join Danny Malin as he goes through the History of Yorkshire Puddings with playful puddings to take away!
1pm - Adam Bryan, head chef at Wing-A-Ding will be taking you on a Caribbean delight with his authentic marinates and crispy chicken wings with flavours from the Caribbean.
2.15pm - Simone Alrababa, owner and Chef from our very own Darley Street Kitchen and Pizzeria Il Forno will be taking you through his Italian pizza!
Wimbledon is taking over on the Sunday with the Men's Finals on our large outdoor screen at 4pm.
11am - 2pm - Eden Pie, local plant based cake makers will be on hand with Wimbledon themed cupcake decorating on the Market Square.
10am - 3pm - Sponge Tree will host strawberry and growing themed nature outdoor activities on the Market Square.
10am - 4pm - Q20 are on hand with their Bouncy Tennis Players around Darley Street, the Market Square and inside the market!
Play Tent and Playful Anywhere are back transforming the streets and courtyard into immersive play!
Salt Pots will be back inside Darley Street Kitchen from 11am - 3pm with their hand painted tiles workshop and Dominican Association will be on hand from 11am with traditional Caribbean table games.
