Coffee Morning: C.H. Wood’s Aerial Photographs

15 Nov 2024

10:15 - 12:00

Ilkley Manor House

Join Olivia Johnson, Photo Archive Assistant at Bradford Museums and Galleries, on 15 November to learn about Charles Harold Wood.

From motorcycle test-rider, to photographer, to inventor, C. H. Wood’s archive, spanning 70 years and over 300,000 negatives, is a vital resource in preserving Bradford’s history. Not only was he one of Bradford’s most prolific industrial and aerial photographers, but his contribution to the war effort also earned him an M.B.E. and aided the Dambusters in their successful 1943 raid.

Tickets to attend the talk in person are £5 and may be purchased online through Eventbrite (a booking fee is payable), or in person through the Box Office when the House opens on weekends.

Tickets may be available on the door but will be subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee admission.

Arrive at Ilkley Manor House at 10:15am to have time to get a hot drink and biscuit. The talk will start at 10:30am, lasting roughly an hour with time for questions at the end. Please note that this talk will take place upstairs in the Western Gallery.
