A: Where Old Woman meets William Clough: Torside to Hayfield: Ian Ainley

12.75 miles Ascent 1876 ft. Descent 1969 ft.

From Torside Visiting Centre we take the old Railway West to where the Pennine Way crosses the valley. We join the Pennine Way going south east to climb up to Wildboar Gain & Bleaklow Head.

We continue on the Pennine Way to the junction of Old Woman crossing the Snake Road. After 2 miles we leave the Pennine Way at the junction with the Snake Path which takes us into Hayfield via William Clough & Kinder Res.

B: Kinder Downfall and Edale Cross Gnat Hole to Hayfield: Ray Wilkes

The B walk starts at Gnat Hole just south of Glossop. We go via Harry Hut to the spectacular and awesome Kinder Downfall and then along the edge of Kinder Scout, with excellent westward views, to Edale Cross and then down to the lovely village of Hayfield which is replete with cafes and pubs.
