Summer Cinema at Cubby Broccoli

3 - 27 Jul 2024

11:00 - 20:30

Cubby Broccoli Cinema

While the doors to Pictureville Cinema and the National Science and Media Museum remain temporarily closed, we are returning to our Cubby Broccoli screen, bringing a specially curated programme of cult and classic cinema back to one of our three beloved screens.

Free tea and coffee will be offered at every screening in Cubby Broccoli, where you can expect a warm welcome from the Pictureville team in a cosy, familiar space, as you support Bradford’s only independent cinema.

Our July programme features these key strands:

MARLON BRANDO 100
Among the most enduring film stars of all time, 2024 marks 100 years since the birth of Marlon Brando. The time has never been better to celebrate the remarkable career of a legendary star with a selection of all-time great performances from some of the most iconic films in cinema history.

Titles include the 50s classics On The Waterfront and A Streetcar Named Desire, and Francis Ford Coppola's 70s masterpieces The Godfather and Apocalypse Now: The Final Cut.

The Long, Hot Summer
From sun-kissed romances to stifling thrillers, our Long, Hot Summer season is a celebration of the most vibrant time of the year.

With titles including Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window, Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing, and Luca Guadanigno's modern masterpiece Call Me By Your Name, we have curated a season that shows the irresistible charm of summer on screen and will make you forget about those grey British skies.

Kids' Club:
Our £3 family Kids' Club continues at Cubby Broccoli with a very special Shrekrospective, featuring all four adventures of everyone's favourite ogre.

As the summer holidays approach you can find extra Kids' Club screenings which you may have missed in cinemas the first time around, including Disney's live action The Little Mermaid and Pixar's Onward.

Please note that we are temporarily unable to take cash payments at Cubby Broccoli.

Access the Cubby Broccoli screen from the back of the museum whilst the main entrance remains closed.

Cubby Broccoli is located on level 1 of the National Science and Media Museum.

As the National Science and Media Museum undergoes redevelopment in a once-in-a-generation transformation, the museum foyer is currently inaccessible. As a result, Cubby Broccoli will only be accessible via its rear entrance next to Sharpe Street car park.
