Come and see what happens when you mix Bradford's textile heritage with a vibrant creative community to produce a large-scale art installation, highlighting climate change trends in Yorkshire. Almost 3.5 million stitches have been knitted by volunteers into a 15 metre long warming stripe display that charts our changing temperature from the 1850s to present. This is a unique piece that inspires and empowers us all to take climate action.
There will be an official launch on Saturday 5th July. Please book your free place via https://bradfordcathedral.churchsuite.com/events/x20wgq1t
Knit the Stripes is brought to you by Craft for Climate. Launched in 2024, Craft for Climate is connecting people through craft and climate action. Our creative projects engage communities in positive climate conversations to support optimism and empower action.
Craft for Climate is a collaboration between Sustainability Sorted and The Little Craft House. Thanks also to Saltaire Women's Institute, Shipley Council, West Yorkshire Spinners, The Salt Foundation and The Men's Shed for their support with the project.
