Too Much Too Young: The 2 Tone Records Story

7 Jul 2024

13:30 - 14:30

The Alhambra Theatre

Join musician-turned-award-winning-author, Daniel Rachel, for the incredible story of the watershed moment that, for a time, shaped British pop culture.

In 1979, the 2 Tone label exploded into the national consciousness as records by The Specials, The Selecter, Madness, The Beat, and The Bodysnatchers burst into the charts and an iconic youth movement was born.

2 Tone was Black and White: a multi-racial force of British and Caribbean island musicians singing about social issues, racism, class and gender struggles, and taking the fight against right-wing extremism.

Highlighting the challenges of mixing pop and culture, Too Much Too Young is the fascinating story of an iconic music label and the soundtrack of a generation.
