While the doors to Pictureville Cinema at the National Science and Media Museum remain temporarily closed, their off-site cinema programme continues.

From 23 May they are taking up residency at beloved The Studio next to the Alhambra Theatre to bring you a programme of cult, classic, and international cinema plus special one-off events.

The programme includes Acts of Rebellion - a season of inspiring dramas and documentaries celebrating the rulebreakers and changemakers who aim to make society a better place.

Titles include:

Copa 71' (PG): Absorbing documentary about the 1971 Women’s World Cup in Mexico City.

20 Days in Mariupol (18): A team of Ukrainian journalists trapped in the besieged city of Mariupol struggle to continue their work documenting the war's atrocities.

Joyland (15): The youngest son in a traditional Pakistani family becomes a backup dancer in a Bollywood-style burlesque and falls in love with a trans woman.

Mami Wata (12A): A captivating Nigerian tale of water and power.

Dear Future Children (15): Hopeful documentary following three young people who are out to change the world.

Four Daughters (15): One day, a woman's two eldest daughters disappear. To fill their absence, director Kaouther Ben Hania calls upon professional actors and sets up an extraordinary film mechanism to unveil their story.

Queen of Glory (15): Scientist Sarah is all set to abandon education for adventure, when an unexpected tragedy leaves her the sole owner of a small bookshop in the Bronx.
