Motherboard: Screening + Q&A

29 Jun 2025

14:00 - 16:00

National Science and Media Museum

Join filmmaker and author Victoria Mapplebeck for a special Q&A session following the screening of Motherboard.

Motherboard is a complex, personal, funny. and unsentimental portrait of a mother-son relationship from birth to adulthood. Mapplebeck becomes pregnant after a very short relationship. She realises that bringing up her son is not compatible with her job as a BBC director and so leaves to raise Jim and convince the father that he is indeed the father. As a compulsive filmmaker she records her struggles.

This powerful documentary explores the intimate and often challenging relationship between technology and family life.

A rare opportunity to engage directly with the filmmaker, delve deeper into the themes of the film, and discuss the impact of technology on our lives.

Thanks to Tull Stories for this special preview before the film goes on release in the UK.
