Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (12A)

22 Aug 2025

19:00

Ilkley Lido

Jamie’s got big dreams, but they aren’t like those of other boys. Part of Open-Air Cinema at Ilkley Lido with Wild Rumpus.

Jamie New (Max Harwood) is a 16-year-old boy living on a Sheffield council estate – and struggling to find his place in the world.

Jamie’s got big dreams, but they aren’t like those of other boys. For Jamie’s a budding teenage drag queen – and with the help of mother Margaret (Sarah Lancashire) and mentor Hugo (Richard E Grant), he just might take his place on the throne.

Join us in a Technicolor wonderland at Ilkley Lido for a special outdoor screening of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. Directed by Jonathan Butterell from a script by Tom MacRae, with songs from Dan Gillespie Sells of The Feeling, the movie adaptation of the smash hit stage musical is a joy from start to finish – the perfect Friday feelgood film to open our immersive Open-Air Cinema weekender, created with the brilliant Wild Rumpus and continuing on Saturday with Sexy Beast.
