A musical theatrical story about our time and a future that we can shape.

There's something in the air. Change. But it's not a new car, or an arduous trip to see the grandparents, or finally getting her own acoustic guitar for a dream career as a folk singer. No, this is bigger.

Micka, 14 years old, headstrong and full of curiosity, feels it everywhere. It’s still quiet, barely audible, but it’s getting louder: There’s the whispering of her parents that wipes the smile off her mother’s face. The restlessness of the neighbours packing their suitcases. A friend whose house is suddenly empty. Half – started sentences that die on the lips of the adults. No one is speaking them yet, but they will bring change. In Micka’s life. In her family’s life. In the lives of many, perhaps all.

“Chasing the Wind” tells of change, the courage it requires, and the fear it brings. And of the vague feeling of being in the midst of a new beginning. With live music, movement, singing and different languages, yet understandable for everyone, the international ensemble brings a story about our time to the stage – a story about our time and a future that we can shape.

About the companies
“Chasing the Wind” is an international collaboration between four leading companies creating work for young audiences. Combining music, movement, storytelling and different languages, this is a story for a borderless world. The wind blows across continents, but change is rarely what you expect.

The project is modelled after hugely successful collaboration, Patrice Balbina’s Chance Encounter, which saw a team of ten international artists create a work for young audiences that was premiered at ATYP in 2016 before transferring to Vancouver, then going on to further seasons at the ASSITEJ World Congress in South Africa and the Commonwealth Games Cultural Festival on the Gold Coast.
