Bradford Queer Film Festival is delighted to present Go Fish (1994), dir. Rose Troche in stunningly remastered 4K as this year’s ‘Thirty Flirty and Thriving’ feature celebrating a classic LGBTQ+ film that has stood the test of time in it’s 30th year.
After leaving behind her girlfriend to attend college in Chicago, young lesbian Max is introduced to Ely, a slightly older woman with quirky habits. While Max and Ely quickly develop an attraction to each another, a poorly timed phone call from Max’s long-distance girlfriend, Kate, brings things to an abrupt halt… for now.
Set in Chicago and using real locations, local extras and developed with the community, Go Fish broke new ground for representing lesbians on screen.
Considered a staple of the ‘New Queer Cinema’ genre Rose Troche and Guinevere Turner’s classic finally returns to the big screen in beautiful 4K.
