Far away and long ago, when dragons still existed and the only arcade game was ping-pong in black and white, a wizard cautiously entered a smoky tavern in the evil, ancient, foggy city of Ankh-Morpork…
Join us for a spell-binding event celebrating the life and work of the award-winning and bestselling author, Sir Terry Pratchett, best known for his Discworld series. Hear from Rob Wilkins, Pratchett’s friend and former assistant, as he recounts his memories with the celebrated author, and shares some of the early short stories that preluded Pratchett’s masterful Discworld series.
These rediscovered tales were written by Pratchett under a pseudonym in the 1970s and 1980s, and while none are set in his beloved world, they hint towards it and the characters he would go on to craft.
Wilkins is now head of the Pratchett literary estate, and author of the only authorised biography of Pratchett’s life, Terry Pratchett: A Life With Footnotes. Wilkins is joined in conversation by literary agent, Stevie Finegan (Zeno Agency), a lifelong admirer of the Discworld.
